Transite and other fiber-reinforced cementitious composite roofing becomes weakened by acid rain, freeze-thaw, and microbiologically accelerated weathering. These roofs may become weakened to the point that it is unsafe to cross them without duckboards. Spray-applied polyurethane foam, at a minimum of 1-1/2” thick, provides reinforcement and improves the structural integrity of the roof. Two coats of a high quality acrylic coating such as Polaroof AC will protect and seal the roof while also providing a layer of fire protection.
