APPLICATION
Caution! READ THIS ENTIRE DATA SHEET BEFORE CONTINUING.
Surface to be coated must be firm, dry and free of loose debris, grease, oil, mildew or any substance that may interfere with proper bond. All cracks, spalled or damaged surfaces must be repaired prior to coating.
Substrate Priming Requirements:
Substrate | Primer |
Highly porous surfaces | Polaprime 2 |
Firm painted surfaces | Light abrading |
Medium density concrete* | No primer |
Wood | No primer |
* Highly troweled dense concrete may need special treatment.
It is advisable to test previously coated or treated surfaces by applying POLAGARD COLORCOAT coat (and primer if required) to a 4'x4' area. After the area has cured, inspect the coating for adhesion, blisters, pinholes or other signs of incompatibility. It may be necessary to sand or rough some surfaces to improve bond. POLAGARD COLORCOAT is applied straight out of the can after 2 minutes of low speed stirring or mixing. POLAGARD COLORCOAT may be applied by brush, roller or airless spray technique. Two coats are normally applied for a smooth finish.
LIMITATIONS:
Do not apply to frozen or saturated surfaces. Do not apply if the temperature cannot be maintained above 40°F for 6 hours. Protect from precipitation for 4 hours after completion. Protect product from freezing. Shelf life is 18 months in unopened containers stored indoors.
