Smith Bridge over Baker River, Plymouth, NH

Products used: Polaseal EFM

The Smith Bridge is one of many beautiful old covered bridges in New England.  After its refurbishment, it was necessary to provide waterproofing and fire protection to its wooden structure.
Polaseal EFM is a penetrative sealer based on siloxane chemistry and Nochar N.F.P. fire retardant technology.  Polaseal EFM was used to provide water repellency to the wood and prevent any potential combustion.  Polaseal EFM is transparent, it is resistant to fungus and microbiological attack, and will not discolor or alter the appearance of the wood substrate.  After its treatment with Polaseal EFM, the Smith Bridge was back in operation to provide a sheltered crossing and enhance the beauty of the New England countryside.
